A Public Figure

Well, it's official. I'm famous!

Obviously being on YouTube I'm in the public eye and out there for all the world to see. But the thing with YouTube is that you can upload no matter where you live so there is still a disconnect, so to speak, with your audience. It finally hit me the other day though that people are starting to recognize me from my channel.

My wife and I are currently in the market for a good used toy hauler for the 1000-5 so I have been message a lot of people recently. (On a side note, it is absolutely stupid how hard it is to find one that has a tall enough opening to fit our towering 1000's in! Guess if I do find one that fits now I'll have to chop the cage if I ever want to put bigger tires on it)

Well, the other day I message a guy nearby that had a nice toy hauler for sale and ask for the height of the door. Explaining I had a Pioneer and that she was a tall girl. He messaged me back and said that he also had a 1000 and the reason he was selling the toy hauler was because it didn't fit...lol. O well, story of my search. I said thanks and my good byes and continued my search. A few minutes latter he messaged me out of the blue saying that he enjoy's my video's and we carried on a nice conversation for a bit.

The following day I had to make a Wal-Mart run for a couple things. I was making my way through the store and I noticed a guy do a double take at me then look at me funny. He kept going but glanced back at me a few more times as he went. Later on I hear "Excuse me" from behind and turn to see this same guy walking up to me. I can see him sort of eyeing me up as he approaches and he asks "Hey, are the Appalachian Mountain Riders guy on Youtube?"

Now I don't consider my channel to be that big by any means, at least not yet, but at that moment it hit me. Holy Crap! I'm famous! OK, maybe not famous but "Know".

For the sake of not sounding narcissistic, I want to make sure to say that I'm not making YouTube video's to get "famous" or even to make money(but I do hope to make enough to go full time with Appalachian Mountain Riders and be up there with the likes of "Dirt Trax" and "Fishers ATV World" one day)I make video's because I love to do it, I love the sport, and its a great feeling to get a message or comment that my video has help someone in one way or another. But having people come up to me on the "street" makes it feel like I'm on the right track with my endeavors and that people enjoy my content enough to want to come over and say hi.
